Who to include in your Maternity photos

Who? Maternity images typically are mom alone, mom and dad, or mom and the babys' siblings. However, there are no rules about who should be included in maternity images.

Many session include a mix of images, mom alone, a few with mom and the children, and mom and dad. We only need to have an appoximate idea before we start so that we can allocate enough time for the possible combinations.

When young children are involved I prefer to start with a few quick images of mom by herself, then add the children. Most kids find a professional photo shoot pretty boring and become easily distracted and sometimes cranky. This is why I like to get images with the young children early and quickly. I also recommend that you have someone to watch the kids even if they are not in the pictures.
